Psophonia Dance Company

Cohesive and delightful, intuitive and gritty, Psophonia captures the imagination.

SHOW DESCRIPTION

Celebrating 10 years of producing exciting contemporary dance, Psophonia Dance Company will pack a punch with the collage of signature works they are bringing to the Cincinnati Fringe Festival. Some dances slated for performance are Bent, Devil’s Playground, Worms and Mazagines and Beat Selts. Falling on the darker side are Bent and Devil’s Playground. Bent, set to wax poetry music, revolves around feelings of manipulation and defiance, while Devil’s Playground inches its way toward irrational and all consuming fear. Not lacking in their sense of humor, on the flip side, Psophonia will perform Worms and Mazagines and Beat Selts. Worms, set to music by War’s Lowrider, is a fun little interlude that cleverly shows worms with personality. In excerpts from Mazagines and Beat Selts (also lovingly known as The Mattress Piece), you can revel in the memory of child like play and party sleepovers set to music by J.S.Bach.
