Automobile/group performance art on a blocked-off city street.
SHOW DESCRIPTION
Car/Street is a form of car performance art. Over twenty cars and people will recreate an elaborate, living streetscape on a closed-off city block. The audience will be positioned on one side of the street and activities will take place on the street and along the block.
ARTIST/COMPANY BIOGRAPHY
Andy Marko is the staff producer in the Communication Department at Miami University and he has an MFA in Film. He teaches media production. He has taught electronic art and issues in contemporary art at the University of Cincinnati (DAAP) and has lectured at the Contemporary Arts Center (Cincinnati), the Art Academy and the Miami University Art Museum. His media productions have won awards including regional Emmys, the Chicago Film Festival and the Athens International Film Festival. Marko has performed throughout the Midwest. He is the chair of the PDAC or the Public Display of Affection Commission and he received an Ohio Arts Council Individual Artist Fellowship (interdisciplinary/performance) for 2005.
