SHOW DESCRIPTION

See this show if your PC-o-meter needs to get blown up and reconfigured. Title first: assholes you understand -- an aureole is a "radiance surrounding the head or body; halo; glory." You can call it A&A if you have to. A&A was the top-selling show at the 2008 Indianapolis Fringe Festival. Two high-energy actresses and one award-winning and fabulously talented playwright created this play.

"Outrageous in very smart ways."
"You will believe there are at least four people on the stage."
"Be ready to laugh at things you know are intrinsically wrong."
"Blasts character acting into the stratosphere."

Come and see us more than once. People often do. Thanks!

ARTIST/COMPANY BIOGRAPHY

Diane Kondrat and Karen Irwin are a pair of high-energy performers who have often been cast as mother and daughter. They got tired of not having many scenes together where they could both be really funny. They contacted Eric Pfeffinger, a superlative genius playwright. The three of them concocted ideas in Assholes and Aureoles. Some of the stuff Eric just had sitting around on his computer, with no one wild enough to put it on stage. After about a year and a half of collaboration, Eric wrote the script. Now Diane and Karen have 55 minutes of astounding, shock-wave producing theatre that they can get behind 100%.

InterAction Theater, the producing organization (www.interactiontheater.org), began by presenting theatre as education in prisons with HIV/AIDS as their main subject matter. The company has expanded its work to embrace various social issues and (obviously) presents stage productions as well. We do good work.

'AND THE FRINGIEST PART IS ...'

Other people's quotes:
"Breathtakingly funny-verbally and physically-performances. "
"Don't confuse this as merely comedy, as the writing, political satire and acting are all brilliant."
"I laughed so hard, I had tears running. Don't let the title scare you away, it's a series of slices of life, some believable others far fetched but all make you laugh or be amazed."
