Day One of Performances Starts Tonight

The opening night party kicked my ass. Literally the Know Theatre builiding gave my mind a swift kick in the butt to get me ready for the 2011 Cincy Fringe Festival. I met several new artists in town and look forward to seeing their shows. I also saw some returning artists back to Fringe and am very excited to see their productions as well.

The Bengstons played an amazing set as the headliners of the opening party and the food was stellar! The fried chicken hit the spot!

The Summit Push

We have done this show three times now- in iowa City, IA; Grand Rapids MI and at the Acorn Theatre in MI (a place that used to house the productions of wunderkind director David Cromer)...

Another View on What to See at Fringe: Day One

Behind the Curtain Cincinnati has a take on what to see on Day One of the Festival.

Less Than a Week Until Fringe, Plan Ahead!

The days are counting down to May 31st, but there is still plenty of time to figure out your schedule of what to see. As of now there is one detailed plan to see all of the main performances, but not everything. There's just a huge fluffy mass of new Fringe special events that make seeing everything impossible, unless someone has a special super computer more powerful than my fancy-pants iPad 2. I don't have an advanced math degree, so someone may find the right algorithm.

22.5

I was really happy with the 22.5-Hour Play Project. I was excited to try it because I wanted to see what would happen. I literally had no idea--it was truly an experiment. As most things do, it didn't necessarily go the way it was (loosely) planned, but that was part of the process. It WENT--and that is so important to me.

22.5 Hour Play Project Is Underway

Well, teams were assigned last night and we're busy at work. Well, some of us are busy. At this point I'm just waiting.

I will be acting.

Yes, I shall repeat that: I will be acting in the piece we are about to create and perform tonight in the underground for the 22.5 Hour Play Project. My talents are more in realm of a writer or producer or maybe a director, but the Theatre Gods have spoken . I shall apologize in advance to every professional actor out there who may see or hear about my performance. It may not be pretty, but I will be trying damn hard!
