FRINGE FACT: Visual Fringe is huckin' fott. Just like Film Fringe.

Visual Fringe

A note from Matt Steffen, Visual Fringe Chair

The Visual Fringe is back and gaining speed! This year The Art Academy of Cincinnati has generously donated two gallery spaces giving us a great space to showcase some of the region’s talented visual artists. Also part of the Visual Fringe, three incredibly talented local artists – Matthew Dayler, Danny Babcock and Eric Lowenstein – will be painting a mural during the Festival on the south wall of Know Theatre’s facility at 1120 Jackson Street. This project will bring the art out of the galleries and to the public. As it will be painted during the hours of the Festival for everyone to see, it will blur the line between performance and visual art as well as offering a great chance to see a large scale work happen from start to finish. I would like to thank the Art Academy for all of their support of the Fringe Festival as well as everyone who takes the time to experience the Visual Fringe. I look forward to seeing you at the Visual Fringe Opening Reception on Tuesday, May 27, 2008. Keep Fringing.
